Who We Are ...

The Kent County Chamber of Commerce originated over 40 years ago as the Chestertown Chamber of Commerce. In the 1970's it was determined that it would be in the best interest of the Community for this Chamber to extend its representation to include the entire county, its businesses and individuals.

To encourage our members to become active in their community, we have presented speakers on a variety of topics including the Director of Planning and Zoning regarding proposed amendments to zoning text; tax specialists to speak on how tax changes can affect individuals as well as businesses; and a representative from the Board of Education to speak to us about "Character Counts", a program designed to teach our youth the importance of developing the intangible skills as well as the normal school curricula.
