A SEASON FOR FRESH STARTS: YMCA OF THE CHESAPEAKE SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

As families settle into the new school year, the YMCA of the Chesapeake is making it easier than ever to get connected and stay active. Throughout the month of September, all eleven YMCA of the Chesapeake branches will waive the $75 joining fee for new members.

“September is a natural time for fresh starts,” said Robbie Gill, CEO of the YMCA of the Chesapeake. “Whether you’re looking to build healthy habits, spend more time together as a family, or connect with your community, the Y is here for you. More than a gym or a pool, the Y is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to grow stronger in spirit, mind and body.”

YMCA memberships open the door to so much more than just fitness. Members enjoy access to all eleven YMCA of the Chesapeake branches—stretching from Elkton to Chincoteague—along with YMCAs throughout Maryland and participating Ys across the country.

Membership also includes:

  • Over 300 group fitness classes on land and in the water

  • Free “Stay & Play” childcare while parents work out

  • Discounts on youth sports, swim lessons, day camps, and enrichment programs

Through the Y’s Open Doors Program, financial assistance is available to ensure no one is turned away because of cost. This program is made possible through the generosity of members, donors, and volunteers who support the Y’s Annual Campaign.
