The Mainstay in Rock Hall, MD, will be hosting the super heroes from Maryland's own R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center on Sunday, who will teach us how to stop traumatic bleeding and perhaps save their life on Sunday, November 2, 20025 from 2 – 3p.m.
“Someone can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes,” said the organizers at The Mainstay. “Our local hospital is 15+ minutes away from most locations in Kent County and paramedics and EMS can be anywhere in the county when you need them!
“This event is about building confidence in an emergency,” organizers continued. “In just one hour, neighbors can learn practical steps that save lives before first responders arrive. The more people who know these techniques, the safer our homes, schools, workplaces, and public spaces become.”
This event is offered as a community service. Seating is limited to the first 40 and online registration is required. To register, please go to: www.umm.edu/stopthebleed or you may visit The Mainstay’s website at: www.mainstayrochhall.org and click on the pop up link. You may skip past the Shock Trauma "donation" button that pops up first, if you would like. Training is free.
