KCHS Back to School event

Principal Kris Hemstetter and teacher John Keller welcome students back to Kent County High School for the fall. The community is invited to Back to School Night at Kent County High School from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24.

WORTON — Kent County High School invites the whole community out to see all that it has to offer during its annual Back to School Night!

The high school's Back to School Night is being held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 25301 Lambs Meadow Road, Worton.

This year’s event is more than just a chance to meet teachers — it’s a celebration of what it means to be a Trojan.

Families, students and community members are invited to explore programs, connect with staff and discover how Kent County High School partners with organizations throughout the community to support student success.

Community partners including the YMCA, Choptank Health, The Bookplate and Washington College will be on hand to share resources and opportunities.

These partnerships reflect Kent County High School's mission that 100% of students will graduate career and college ready and its vision that schools thrive when they rise together with their community.

“This is about more than school — it’s about what you can do, become and belong to at Kent County High School,” said Principal Kris Hemstetter. “Through our partnerships and our values of Respect, Integrity, Success and Empowerment we’re building a future for every student.”

The evening will also feature food trucks from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, Get the Scoop Ice Cream, and Rollin’ Ricks Restaurant, so families can enjoy dinner while engaging with teachers, programs and partners.

"Kent County High School invites all families, alumni, and community members to join in this event and see firsthand the opportunities and Trojan pride that make us the heart of the community," Hemstetter said.
