Briefly Describe Your Business: We are a family-owned and operated business with over 40 years of experience in the beauty industry. Former owners of Atelier Salon on a Kent Island and Primary Colours Hair Salon in Chestertown. Our small cottage on Cannon Street in Chestertown is home to our studio salon where we offer hair services and nail services. Mother and daughter team, Cindy Newsome and Julie Neukam have specialized in hair color for two decades. We are Chestertown natives and Kent County is home to us. We have a great love for our hometown and the people in this community. You may ask, who is Sarah Paige? Our namesake is the next step down on the family tree! Granddaughter/Daughter of our stylists. It’s a family affair!
What Makes Your Business Unique/Sets You Apart?: We offer a small intimate experience, more of an exclusive one-on-one consultation and personal service. Our focus is to engage with you in conversation and interest in your expectations and give options that are manageable. We offer a full menu of hair services and we offer luxury pedicures and nail services as well. Summertime, we offer our “Front Porch Pedicures” which this past year became a one-of-a-kind experience. We even offer a gift with every pedicure that you will take home just for the sheer fun of it. Our studio is bright, with lots of natural light and we are cheerful and always glad to welcome you.
Why Did You Join The Chamber?: I feel that the Chamber of Commerce is a powerful group of like-minded business owners who wish to succeed and to support one another. Through networking and positive relationships and collaborative efforts, we all can get to know each other and support each other through recommendations and referrals.
What Do You Like About The Kent County Community?: The Kent County Community is just home. The families that have lived in this community for a long time have so much to share with the newcomers that are moving in to make their homes. Kent County a fantastic place to grow up and as we encourage businesses to succeed, it is hoped that it will always be a wonderful place to live and thrive.
What Do You Like About Doing Business In And Around Kent County?: We simply just like that our history is here. The streets and roads of the town and the county are our stomping grounds. It’s where our heritage was built. There simply is no place like home.
