Briefly Describe Your Business: South Fork Studio Landscape Architecture is a full-service Landscape Architecture Firm dedicated to designing inviting, innovative, and environmentally sustainable human spaces and native landscapes throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our mission is to create and nurture a direct connection between the landscape and the people that inhabit it.
What Makes Your Business Unique/Sets You Apart?: We are a small firm which allows clients to always have a direct connection with Miles, the firm principal throughout a project. We place emphasis on designing spaces that are functional first, beautiful second, and maintainable third. We also have a strong construction background many long-standing relationships with the best local contractors. Finally, we also take most projects through the permit process and have therefore developed in-depth knowledge about how the process works, what the laws are that shape the permit review process, and who to talk to in order to successfully get a permit approved.
Why Did You Join The Chamber?: To be a more supportive business of local organizations and other business in the community
What Do You Like About The Kent County Community?: I like that it's small. I like waving to people I know as I drive down the road or saying hello to people I know as I walk down the street. But because it's a popular second home destination, it attracts interesting people from more urban areas that add to the diversity of the community. These people often become our clients and therefore I get to interact with a wide variety of people on any given day.
What Do You Like About Doing Business In And Around Kent County?: Because Kent County is so small, the people I do business with are people that have become friends with. I see them in work settings but I also see them in social settings. I think this well-rounded interaction with people strengthens business relationships.
