Figg’s Ordinary, LLC is pleased to announce that the Kent County Chamber of Commerce has awarded Figg’s Ordinary with a Certificate of Recognition marking Figg’s fifth anniversary of serving the Chestertown community.
Ingrid Hansen, Owner and CEO of Figg’s Ordinary, accepted the Certificate from Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sam Shoge on March 23, 2022. Hansen noted “Figg’s Ordinary is honored by the Chambers’ recognition and thankful to the Chestertown community for their years of support and loyal patronage. The Chamber’s support of the Chestertown business community is indispensable, and we so appreciate the recognition, a lovely gesture we all value.” The Certificate will proudly adorn the interior of Figg’s Ordinary bakery, and provide incentive for achieving another five years of growth and success.

What’s an Ordinary and Who Is Figg?
“Ordinaries” provided a communal table around which travelers, politicians, and townspeople could share a meal and pause for conversation in the days of colonial America. As our home of Chestertown, Maryland, was established in 1706, we thought we would renew this convivial practice from our past for current residents and visitors -- hence our name, Figg’s Ordinary. Figg was our beloved miniature dachshund, whose happy and spunky spirit inspired the name of our bakery. Although Figg passed on to the great kennel in the sky too soon, her memory lives on and always makes us smile, just as we hope our products make you smile!
