Joe Holt's First Friday Welcomes Holly Lane
$20
Friday 7/7
8:00 pm
On Friday, July 7th, piano impresario Joe Holt, the host of the Mainstay’s popular monthly First Friday programs, welcomes singer Holly Lane to share the stage with him. Holly and Joe have prepared an evening of songs with a Parisian-theme, her first love.
In her early 20's Holly began working as a dancer in a Paris cabaret. Not long after, she tried her hand at singing at an Open Mic and soon found herself working steadily in the Paris jazz clubs. In 2001 she returned to her home in Rehoboth and became the vocalist for the group "Shore Jazz", working the local clubs 4-5 nights/week. These days she performs regularly on Thursday nights at Café Azafran in Rehoboth. But be advised, you need to make a reservation weeks in advance if you want to see her!
Rounding out Joe’s guest list for the evening will be Shore Jazz members John Ewart and Mike McShane.
Barbara Parker and Friends
$20
Friday 7/21
8:00 pm
Why is it usually surprising when a friend, a neighbor, steps in front of a microphone on a local stage, starts to sing, and something spellbinding comes out? Local singer/songwriter Barbara Parker has such a gift. Her strong, just-right voice and heartfelt songs instantly bring us elsewhere as few vocalists can. Her musical palette has room for her original music as well as some familiar covers, and delivers a smooth and saucy Americana. It's the promise of a summer evening that samples classic coffeehouses, snippets of old time country, blues, and even an occasional rock tune. Barbara will be joined on the Mainstay stage by pianist Joe Holt and a great back-up band
