Rock Hall Elementary Collecting Socks for Families in Need

Community members can help those in need stay warm this fall by donating new socks in their original packaging to Rock Hall Elementary School's Sock-tober fundraiser. Donation buckets like this one are located at the school, Bayside Market, Java Rock, Fresh Start, Rock Hall ACE Hardware and Haven Harbour.

As summer has slipped into fall, Rock Hall Elementary School is trying to help those in need slip their feet into nice warm socks.

A designated Community School by the State of Maryland, Rock Hall Elementary is providing more support than ever to the surrounding area.

As part of that effort, the school is holding a Sock-tober fundraiser throughout the month.

Small socks, big socks, even in-between socks — all new and in their original packaging — can be dropped off at Rock Hall Elementary between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Skylar Yiannakis and Amir Black are helping with Rock Hall Elementary School's Sock-tober fundraiser. Donate new socks of all sizes in their original packaging to the school to help community members in need.

"Your donations and support make a difference and help families stay warm," said Jory Mitzel, Community Schools coordinator at Rock Hall Elementary. "We appreciate your generosity very much."

Local businesses are participating in the drive as well. Additional drop-off locations are Bayside Market, Java Rock, Fresh Start, Rock Hall ACE Hardware and Haven Harbour.

Socks may be mailed to Rock Hall Elementary School, 21203 W. Sharp St., Rock Hall, Md. 21661 or Bayside Market, 21309 Bayside Ave., Rock Hall, MD 21661.
