Community Advisory Council Launched for Chestertown Hospital
UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown has launched a Community Advisory Council designed to bring community perspectives on existing and potentially new health services to the hospital and the greater Kent County and northern Queen Anne’s County region.
Chestertown Emergency Department Welcomes Geriatric Specialist, Katherine Selman, MD
The University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is taking a significant step in its plans to become a designated Age Friendly Health System with the addition of Katherine Selman, MD, to the hospital’s Emergency Department. Dr. Selman comes to UM Shore Regional Health from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill where she completed a Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship.
UM Chester River Health Foundation Hosts Blood Drive Amidst Blood Shortage Emergency
The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) has declared a blood shortage emergency and is asking people across the state to donate blood to help replenish blood supplies. The Chester River Health Foundation is answering the call by holding its annual blood drive on Friday, August 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Michele A. Domenick, MD has joined the UM Shore Medical Group – Surgical Care practice serving the general surgery care needs of Kent and northern Queen Anne’s counties. Dr. Domenick is located in the Multi-Specialty Clinic in UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

The transformation of University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is moving forward as planned, as the hospital proceeds toward a Maryland Rural Hospital designation, the first in the state of Maryland.
Cherrix Named Director, Heart and Vascular Center at UM SRH; Eisemann Promoted
University of Maryland Shore Regional Health recently welcomed Joshua Cherrix as the director of the health care network’s Heart and Vascular Center. Stephen Eisemann was promoted to director of Respiratory Care Services at UM SRH.
