The radio station at Kent County High School recently celebrated 48 years on the air with a 48-hour marathon broadcast and membership drive. The air-a-thon kicked off at 9 a.m. Friday, March 25 and ran through 9 a.m. Sunday, March 26.

Staff members at both the high school and the middle were honored this month with Golden Anchor awards.
Kent County High School Resource Officer Scott Metzbower and nurse Amber Britt were honored for their actions last month during an altercation that saw a student stabbed. Stephen Miller, a physical education teacher at Kent County Middle School, was recognized by his boys basketball team for his outstanding coaching and leadership.

Mentoring program aims to enhance education experience for Black boys in schools
A mentoring program launched in the fall at Kent County High School is already expanding to bring in more students and more community members who want make an impact on a child's life. The program was organized by Dr. Angela Holocker, coordinator of student services for Kent County Public Schools and interim principal at Kent County Middle School.
