Radcliffe Creek School Hosting Annual Fundraiser - Pies, Poinsettias and Cheesecake to Fund the Parent Teacher Committee

After a two year hiatus, the Radcliffe Creek School Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) is happy to offer pies, cheesecakes & poinsettias for sale to our friends in the local community for the holiday season. This is the primary fundraiser for the Radcliffe PTC and is critical to fund the programming and events offered to our students, families and faculty.

Santa to Arrive in the Kent County Holiday Parade Friday, Nov. 25

Chestertown’s holiday season officially kicks off with Hometown Holiday on Friday evening, Nov. 25 as Santa presides over the Annual Kent County Holiday Parade, beginning at 5:30pm on High Street. This popular holiday event features marching bands, classic automobiles, various floats, and familiar characters such as Rudolph, Olaf, and the Grinch. Parade judges will award cash prizes to entrants in each category. Participation in the parade is open to everyone.

Construction Moves Forward on UM Shore Medical Center’s Aging & Wellness Center of Excellence in Chestertown

Renovations are now underway at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown’s medical office building, as the hospital advances its plans to establish a dedicated Aging & Wellness Center of Excellence. The first phase of the project concentrates primarily on the second floor, making room for the relocation of several specialty practices (now located at Philosopher’s Terrace in Chestertown) at the end of this year.

Kent School to Host Young People’s Poet Laureate, Naomi Shahib Nye

Naomi Nye will visit Kent School for the second time on November 16. Nye is a prolific writer whose work touches all ages. On Wednesday, November 16 Ms. Nye will hold a Kent School Middle School assembly and conduct writing workshops with Middle School students during the academic day. At 4:00 p.m. Nye will lead a poetry reading and conversation at Kent School in the Library. The public is invited to attend this late afternoon event and admission is free. Please join us. Nye’s visit to Kent School is made possible by the Kudner Leyon Memorial Endowment.
