Choptank Community Health System’s Chestertown Health Center recently welcomed Family Medicine Physician Caleb Madden Consenstein, MD, MPH, and Family Nurse Practitioner Ebony Hollins, MSN, CRNP, AAHIVS to the medical practice.

It's been five years since Kent County Public Schools partnered with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education to launch a program boosting students' college and career readiness and the numbers show it is clearly paying off.

The Chestertown Rotary Club presents their second annual “Spring Fling” event at The Chester River Yacht and County Club, 7738 Quaker Neck Road in Chestertown, March 18th starting at 5:30pm.

“Psycho Beach Party” is an accurate title for the zany, strange and hilarious play the title represents. Call it Gidget with a personality disorder, or Frankie and Annette go insane, either of which give a sense of the style, wit and comedy of the play. Embracing the era of Hollywood beach movies, it is a parody of 1950s psychodramas, 1960s beach movies and 1980s slasher films. The show opens February 10th and runs weekends through February 26th, with performances at 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 PM on Sundays.

An English teacher at Kent County Middle School was honored with the Golden Anchor Award this month for her work with students. Kaitlyn Wright received the Golden Anchor Award at a Kent County Board of Education meeting held Monday, Jan. 9. 

Kent School is inviting children and their parents to attend a series of fun, Saturday sessions designed to engage and stimulate the curious minds of children ages 7 and under. The workshops will be held on February 4, February 11 and February 25. There is no charge and the public is welcome. Parents should plan on staying on campus while their children participate. 

The Judy Center is organizing a free Kids Summer Camp Expo. Families will be able to explore more than 15 summer camp opportunities available in Kent and Queen Anne's counties. The expo will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Kent County Family YMCA. The YMCA is located at 200 Scheeler Road, Chestertown.

The Chester River Health Foundation sponsored its annual Angel Tree on which "holiday wishes" were hung for children in the foster care programs for Kent and Queen Anne's counties and Kent Center, which provides services for adults who have developmental disabilities. 

Recently, Willow Construction and St. John Foundation each renewed their membership in For All Seasons’ Leadership Circle with $10,000 charitable gifts to the agency. For All Seasons' Leadership Circle is comprised of an exceptional group of individuals and leaders in the business community who give generously and lend their talents, expertise, and connections to the forward momentum of the agency.

Kent Attainable Housing, Inc. (KAH) and Chesapeake Neighbors are pleased to announce a partnership that will bring more affordable housing to Chestertown, MD.  Chesapeake Neighbors has purchased the vacant building at 423 High Street from KAH and intends to develop several affordable rental units on that property. Proceeds from this sale will allow KAH to make critical investments in home construction and financial literacy programs in 2023.
