Wednesday, June 4, marked the Graduation ceremony for Kent School’s Class of 2025. Students, parents, employees, Trustees and community gathered in the M. V. “Mike” Williams Gymnasium to celebrate the graduating class. The twelve member class was recognized for their embodiment of academic, artistic, athletic and moral excellence.

The Garfield Center for the Arts is excited to continue its popular yearly presentation, Short Attention Span Theatre opening July 11th. The GCA’s annual short play program had its earliest roots in 2005, when it was called 8x10 - The 10-Minute Play Project. The name was changed to Short Attention Span Theatre in 2008. Over the years, it has seen both the premiere of many original plays by local playwrights as well as featured the performances of hundreds of local actors.

Kent County Middle School is sending off 116 students to the high school this fall. The middle school celebrated the promotion of those eight-graders with a ceremony in the gym attended by family, friends and community members Wednesday morning, June 11.

Kirk Wright, a member of Kent School’s Class of 1982 will be the guest speaker at Kent School’s 56th Graduation Ceremony. Graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the M. V. “Mike” Williams Gymnasium.

The Kent County High School Class of 2025 is set to graduate at the end of the month, and alumnus Tynette Christy will be there offering words of encouragement. Christy will be this year's keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony, set for 10 a.m. Friday, May 30 in Trojan Stadium.

Mid-Shore Community Foundation (MSCF) in Easton, Maryland has committed $3.8 million to University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, toward construction of the new UM Shore Regional Medical Center.

The Delmarva Pride Center is excited to announce its upcoming event, “A Night in New Orleans,” a vibrant fundraiser celebrating Pride Month and supporting the ongoing efforts to promote equality and inclusivity in the community. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, with a VIP Cocktail Hour starting at 6:00 PM and Concert and Dance starting at 7:00 PM at the historic Garfield Center for the Arts in Chestertown, Maryland.

In April, For All Seasons’ Sexual Assault Awareness focused on educating the community on the topic of drug-facilitated sexual assault. Its “Sip Safe” Campaign raised awareness about the risks associated with drug- and alcohol-facilitated sexual assault while promoting proactive behaviors that enhance personal and community safety.

A trio of student athletes and the Kent County High School girl's basketball coaches were recognized for their achievements this month. The Kent County Board of Education honored wrestling standout Scottie Ford, track star Ramon "R.J." Peterson and swimming champion Henry Martinez during a meeting held Monday, April 14.
