Kent School is pleased to announce significant momentum in its Together We Soar Capital Campaign, following recent new gifts totaling $84,000 that move the School closer to its fundraising goal. These contributions reflect strong community support for Kent School’s vision for growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

Compass Regional Hospice is proud to announce the receipt of a $30,000 grant from the Rural Maryland Council (RMC), along with the generous support of a matching donor who helped make this project possible. Together, this funding allowed us to purchase new, fully adjustable beds for the Barnette Hospice Center—directly enhancing the comfort and quality of care we provide to patients and their families.

The Mainstay in Rock Hall will once again welcome the community for its annual New Year’s Eve Potluck Dinner on Wednesday December 31 starting at 6:00PM, a long-standing tradition filled with music, food, and celebration. This year’s festivities will feature the renowned pianist Joe Holt, whose improvisational brilliance and joyful performance style have made him a favorite on The Mainstay stage.

A pair of fifth-graders are the artists behind this year's Kent County Public Schools' holiday greeting cards. The artwork by H.H. Garnet Elementary School students Emma Pannett and Morgan Pettitt was selected by Superintendent Dr. Mary Boswell-McComas for this year's cards. The students were presented with certificates by the Kent County Board of Education Monday evening, Dec. 8.

In honor of National Rural Health Day on November 20, 2025, For All Seasons participated in the Rural Maryland Council’s 2025 Rural Summit Health-Focused Bus Tour, showcasing innovative approaches to improving health and wellness in rural communities. Participants also visited Choptank Community Health System’s new Federalsburg Health Center and the new University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s building site in Easton.

A holiday tradition at Kent County High School returns this week as retired science teacher Dennis Herrmann presents the 38th annual Planetarium Christmas Show. The Planetarium Christmas Show is being produced by the high school's radio station 90.5 FM WKHS. Admission is free and seasonal refreshments will be served.

The Mainstay is pleased to announce the return of the charismatic six piece Americana and newgrass ensemble Buffalo Rose for a special concert on Saturday, December 13 at 8:00 PM.

Choptank Community Health System received a $500,000 grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation to support the expansion of its Chestertown Health Center, located at 126 Philosophers Terrace.
