On Wednesday, April 23, the Kent County Chamber of Commerce welcomed legislators from Maryland’s 36th District for a Post-Legislative Session Discussion at Heron Point in Chestertown. The event provided local residents, business owners, and community leaders an opportunity to engage directly with elected officials about the outcomes of the 2025 Maryland General Assembly session.

These awards honor outstanding contributions to our community, through commitment, innovation, and leadership in three distinct categories. Harborview Farms was named the 2025 Business of the Year, Shore Community Outreach Team was awarded the 2025 Organization of the Year, and Kristen Owen was recognized as the 2025 Individual of the Year.

The role of this position is to ensure the effective operation of the Kent County Chamber of Commerce office. This individual must be both detail-oriented and customer service focused in order to ensure the effective internal operations of the Kent Chamber. As the first contact for members and the community, the Deputy Executive Director will work to maintain a welcoming environment both in person and through electronic communication.

The Kent County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its Inaugural Golf Tournament, proudly sponsored by Cross Street Realtors. This highly anticipated event will take place on Monday, June 17th, at the Chester River Yacht and Country Club and is open to all golf enthusiasts in the community. The tournament will feature a scramble format, with registration beginning at 11:00 AM and a shotgun start at noon. Participants will enjoy a day of friendly competition, networking, and fun, with prizes awarded to the top teams and winners of various on-course contests.

Eastern Shore Urgent Care was named the 2024 Business of the Year, Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s was awarded the 2024 Organization of the Year, and Deeann Jones was recognized as the 2024 Individual of the Year.

The Mainstay in Rock Hall will once again welcome the community for its annual New Year’s Eve Potluck Dinner on Wednesday December 31 starting at 6:00PM, a long-standing tradition filled with music, food, and celebration. This year’s festivities will feature the renowned pianist Joe Holt, whose improvisational brilliance and joyful performance style have made him a favorite on The Mainstay stage.

A pair of fifth-graders are the artists behind this year's Kent County Public Schools' holiday greeting cards. The artwork by H.H. Garnet Elementary School students Emma Pannett and Morgan Pettitt was selected by Superintendent Dr. Mary Boswell-McComas for this year's cards. The students were presented with certificates by the Kent County Board of Education Monday evening, Dec. 8.

In honor of National Rural Health Day on November 20, 2025, For All Seasons participated in the Rural Maryland Council’s 2025 Rural Summit Health-Focused Bus Tour, showcasing innovative approaches to improving health and wellness in rural communities. Participants also visited Choptank Community Health System’s new Federalsburg Health Center and the new University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s building site in Easton.

A holiday tradition at Kent County High School returns this week as retired science teacher Dennis Herrmann presents the 38th annual Planetarium Christmas Show. The Planetarium Christmas Show is being produced by the high school's radio station 90.5 FM WKHS. Admission is free and seasonal refreshments will be served.

The Mainstay is pleased to announce the return of the charismatic six piece Americana and newgrass ensemble Buffalo Rose for a special concert on Saturday, December 13 at 8:00 PM.

The holidays can be challenging for many, but for those grieving loved ones, they can be especially difficult. This may be because the season often comes with expectations of joy, or because holiday traditions once shared with someone now gone can bring a renewed sense of loss.

Choptank Community Health System received a $500,000 grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation to support the expansion of its Chestertown Health Center, located at 126 Philosophers Terrace. 

H.H. Garnet Elementary School has partnered with For All Seasons to create a Community Wellness Hub. These events are planned to be held twice a month, offering attendees access to support providers.

For All Seasons has rescheduled Frosty’s Holiday Village event for Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anchor Church at 620 Goldsborough Street in Easton, with parking available at The Country School. This year’s event will feature over 50 inflatables and a larger resource tent featuring 12 resource partners who will provide fun games and important resources for families.
