How to get involved

As a leading advocate for business, the Kent County Chamber of Commerce offers numerous opportunities to get involved! To provide the greatest value to the membership, and to facilitate increased outreach in the business community, the Kent County Chamber of Commerce has three special interest committees open to our members - Business Development and Events, Communications and Promotion, and Voice of Business.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND EVENTS COMMITTEE - The goal of the Business Development Events (BDE) Committee is to be the leading organizer of resources and events that increase business vitality in Kent County by facilitating business-to-business connections, collaboration, and growth. The Events Committee focuses on four primary functions: 1) Excellence in Business Awards and Annual Meeting, 2) Targeted Networking Opportunities, 3) Ribbon Cuttings and Open Houses, and 4) Chamber Golf Tournament.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE - The goal of the Communications Committee is to promote the growth of local businesses through effective promotion, marketing, and advertising opportunities, and to communicate the value of Chamber membership to the public. The Communications Committee focuses on four primary functions: 1) Annual Membership Directory and Resource Guide, 2) Kent County Visitors Map, 3) Chamber Website and Social Media, and 4) Monthly E-Newsletter.

VOICE OF BUSINESS COMMITTEE - The goal of the Voice of Business (VoB) Committee is to provide a collaborative platform that gives local businesses and organizations the tools and information they need to support business growth, stay informed on public policy, and develop positive connections in and around Kent County.  The VoB Committee has four program elements: 1) Post-Legislative Session Discussion, 2) Educational Seminars and Workshops, 3) Community Engagement, and 4) Letters of Support and Recommendation.
