Greetings and happy March to our valued chamber members.
I’m thrilled to say the time has come…
It’s finally here…
After more than a year…
The Kent County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce…
Nominations are now open for the Kent County Chamber of Commerce Community Excellence Awards!
A Community Excellence Award will be presented to a business, nonprofit, community organization, or individual who has demonstrated the ability, during the past year, to make a positive difference here in our community.
As mentioned during last month’s chamber update, the Community Excellence Awards marks a revamp to the Excellence in Business Award the Kent Chamber presented in years past. Previously, Kent Chamber member businesses were presented with awards in the following categories: Community Service, New Business of the Year, Outstanding Business of the Year, Environmental Awareness, and Business Leader of the Year. This year, four Community Excellence Awards will be presented to businesses, nonprofits, or community organizations and one Community Excellence Award will be presented to an individual.
For the first time, the nomination process for the Kent Chamber’s signature award will be open to the entire community and not just members of the chamber.
This past year especially highlights the importance of creating a more inclusive awards process. The Kent County community truly demonstrated its ability to pivot and adapt to a world that changed overnight due to the COVID-19 pandemic and there are countless individuals and organizations that deserve to be recognized. We are proud to honor those that have excelled at working tirelessly for the benefit of all who call Kent County home.
If you are or know of an organization or individual that is deserving of the highest recognition from the Kent County Chamber of Commerce, I encourage you to learn more about the nomination process today.
If you are a business that wants to extend your gratitude to all of the winners and be a part of this event, please consider becoming a sponsor.
In service,
Sam Shoge, Executive Director
