KCPS to Host Apprenticeship Forum

Local businesses can help train tomorrow's workforce today thanks to a program offered through Kent County High School.

The high school's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is a partner in Apprenticeship Maryland, offering students paid workforce opportunities.

Kent County businesses are invited to an information session about the Apprenticeship Maryland program and how they can join at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30. 

The information session is being held at the Kent County Community Center, 11041 Worton Road, Worton.

As described by on the program's website, Apprenticeship Maryland is for students ages 16 and up and is designed to lead to sustainable employment and further education.

The program focuses on jobs in the manufacturing and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) sectors and occupations within Kent County Public Schools' CTE pathways.

Kent County High School offers CTE pathways in construction trades, teaching, engineering, broadcasting, food and beverage management, health professions, automotive technology, agricultural science and fire and rescue.
