Briefly Describe Your Business: FMS is a Montessori preschool and kindergarten, welcoming children ages 2-6. We believe that each child is an individual, which is why no two paths through Friendship Montessori are the same. Instead of a set curriculum, students are given time and space to follow their talents and interests, learning independently as well as one-on-one with teachers. In everything we do, we focus on educating the whole child to be a good friend and citizen in addition to a lifelong learner.
What Makes Your Business Unique/Sets You Apart?: Friendship Montessori is the only Montessori school on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Our program celebrates the uniqueness of each child, supports active hands-on learning opportunities, and encourages active participation in the school community. FMS strives to promote a lifetime love of learning.
Why Did You Join The Chamber?: To gain more support and connections for the school during these times that are challenging for small businesses and education in general.
What Do You Like About The Kent County Community?: This community is a caring place.
Is There Anything Else You Want Members To Know About Your Business?: Friendship Montessori School was founded in 1992 in Worton, MD, where it has continued to serve the community for twenty-nine years. We have opted to stay small (up to 32 students) because we want to know our families well and be partners in creating the best possible first school experience for the children.
