Kent County High School and Maryland Business Roundtable Announce Volunteer Opportunities to Support Student Career Readiness

Worton, MD — November 2025 — Kent County High School, in partnership with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT), is inviting local professionals and community members to participate in a series of volunteer opportunities designed to help students explore career pathways and develop essential workplace skills.

Through MBRT’s Speakers Bureau and Next Generation Scholars Program, volunteers can engage directly with students across Maryland by sharing their professional experiences, conducting mock interviews, assisting with resume development, and supporting career exploration activities. Opportunities are available throughout November and December, both in-person and remotely.

As part of this partnership, Kent County High School will offer two upcoming volunteer opportunities:

  • Mock Interviews at Kent County High School
    December 11, 1:05–2:25 PM
Volunteers will conduct practice interviews to help students build confidence and prepare for future employment and internship opportunities.

  • Maryland’s Future Pathways Program
    December 12, 7:40–9:00 AM
Professionals from a variety of fields—including healthcare, human services, law and public safety, art and design, and architecture—are invited to speak with students about potential career paths.

MBRT is also coordinating additional volunteer opportunities statewide, including Maryland’s Emerging Scholars Awards judging (remote, through November 26) and multiple in-person sessions in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Frederick County, and other partner school districts.

Community members interested in volunteering can explore opportunities and sign up through the “Volunteer” tab at www.mbrt.org. Those needing assistance with MBRT account access or wishing to learn more about the Speakers Bureau’s Ready, Set, Speak! training may contact MBRT directly.
