Kent School Announces Two Free Saturday Morning Programs for Young Children

Kent School invites families and young children to attend two upcoming Saturday morning programs designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and active play. Both events are free of charge and open to the public.

On Saturday, February 7, Kent School will host Gym Time: Tumble and Climb from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Children will enjoy an engaging obstacle course and a variety of movement-based activities set up in the M. W. “Mike” Williams Gymnasium. This program encourages physical development, coordination, and confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Director of Athletics and Facilities, Erin Kent said “Sometimes it is hard to get outside and really move in colder months. Gym Time Tumble and Climb is a great way for kids to use some energy and have a ton of fun using our mats, vault, rings, climbing rope and more.”

Later in the month, on Saturday, February 28, families are invited to attend Osprey Explorations, also from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This interactive program blends hands-on art activities, science exploration, and a guided nature walk, giving children the opportunity to learn through creativity and discovery. Tricia Cammerzell, Assistant Head of School for Advancement described this event by saying “We have signature academic programs at Kent School and teachers who are passionate about teaching and collaborating to bring curriculum to life for children. Osprey Adventures is a great example with our very talented Art Teacher, Amy Bower working with our equally talented and energetic Lower School Science Teacher Meghan Ferster to create a meaningful and memorable experience where children will learn through play.”

Both programs are best suited for children ages 3 to 6 and are designed to introduce young learners to Kent School’s experiential approach to early childhood education. The public is warmly invited to attend, and no registration or fee is required. Please monitor Kent School’s social media channels for any schedule changes due to inclement weather.
