Job Description: Academic Technology Coordinator

Kent School, an independent day school located on the bank of the Chester River in historic Chestertown, Maryland serving girls and boys in Preschool through Grade 8, seeks a Technology Coordinator.

Kent School seeks a full-time K - Grade 8 Technology Coordinator responsible for promoting tools, mindsets, and best practices to all members of the school community. The Technology Coordinator supports and integrates technology throughout the School and maintains our 1:1 iPad and Chromebook programs. This person meets regularly with members of Lower and Middle School divisions to consider K - 8 curriculum, support, and initiatives. It is the goal of the Coordinator to assist students and colleagues in effectively considering and utilizing technology in and out of classrooms, with an eye towards growth and progress.

The Technology Coordinator is also responsible for contacting our third-party contractors with internet, hardware, and infrastructure issues, and assisting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Passion for the School’s mission

  • Strong technology literacy, especially with Google Classrooms

  • Extensive working knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and related technologies as they apply to K-12 education

  • Purchase, installation, and upgrade of software and educational applications on Chromebooks, MacBooks, and iPads

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components

  • Troubleshoot and maintain printers

  • Order new equipment

  • Experience in teaching technology

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Solid role model for students

  • Excellent listener and skillful communicator

  • Takes initiative

  • Lifelong learner

  • BA or BS required. Master’s preferred but not required
