University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown recently introduced a new patient transportation golf cart to provide convenient on-campus transportation for patients and visitors traveling between the parking lot and the medical center entrance.
The new golf cart was made possible through the generous support of the Chester River Health Foundation and the Chester River Health Auxiliary, whose contributions reflect their ongoing commitment to enhancing patient care and comfort at the Chestertown hospital. UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is a member hospital of UM Shore Regional Health, a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System
“We are deeply grateful to the Chester River Health Foundation and the Chester River Health Auxiliary for their generous support in funding a new patient transportation golf cart for our Chestertown facility,” said Rebecca Bair, Vice President of Philanthropy for UM Shore Regional Health. “This thoughtful gift will help make visits to our campus easier and more comfortable for patients and families who need assistance traveling from the parking area to our entrance. Their commitment to enhancing the patient experience reflects the very best of community partnership, and we are honored to have their support in helping us care for our neighbors.”
The transportation service is available Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. During service hours, a transportation attendant is stationed in the parking lot and is available to assist patients and visitors traveling to and from the medical center.
If the attendant is assisting another patient or visitor, individuals may use the call button located on the transportation assistance sign in the parking lot to request a ride. The attendant will respond as soon as possible and provide transportation to or from the facility.
