Kent County Board of Education President Joseph Goetz Sworn in as President of Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE)

Joseph (Joe) Goetz, a longtime resident of Kent County, Maryland and President of the Kent County Board of Education, was sworn in October 7th as President of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE), a leading advocate for public education in Maryland since 1957. MABE, whose ongoing vision is to champion excellence in public education, is comprised of all 24 Maryland boards of education.

Carty Receives Car as Teacher of the Year

Kent County Public Schools Teacher of the Year Karen Carty will be driving this Ford Escape for the next year courtesy of Hertrich Ford of Elkton. Carty, who teaches science at Kent County Middle School, received the keys from Mike Croce, general manager of the Hertrich Group, at the home opener for the Kent County High School football team Friday evening, Sept. 9.
