College and Career Fair at KCHS

Students and community members are invited this month to a fair at Kent County High School geared toward career planning. On Thursday, April 20, Kent County Public Schools and the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MRBT), with sponsors BW Health Group, the Kent County Chamber of Commerce and the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, present the Kent County High School College and Career Fair. Free and open to students in grades 9 through 12 and to the community, the College and Career Fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the high school's Trojan Arena.

Four pharmacists at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown are participating in Geriatric Pharmacist Boot Camp, an intensive, two-day online training program offered by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Their participation is made possible thanks to generous community funding provided through the UM Chester River Health Foundation (CRHF).

A dynamic duo of Kent County High School students brought home the gold last month at a Salisbury University computer programming competition. Senior Sam Peregoy and junior Ben Loller took first place out of 12 teams in the second annual Eastern Shore High School Computer Programming Competition. Loller also notched a second-place finish in the individual competition.

Kent County Public Schools recognized teachers and staff Thursday, March 30 at its 2023 awards celebration. The annual awards program honors the Teacher of the Year, Support Employee of the Year and the school system's Promising Educator.

Applications Open for the Peoples Bank, Fleetwood Insurance Group and BGV Insurance's Senior Scholarship

The Peoples Bank, Fleetwood Insurance Group and BGV Insurance have opened applications for their scholarship program for graduating seniors of Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties. Each year they allocate $6,000.00 to fund a yearly scholarship program. These funds are awarded to graduating seniors from all three counties, to be paid directly to each awardee’s institution of higher education upon notification of enrollment. Institutions of higher education can include 4-year colleges, community colleges and trade schools.

Benedictine will be holding its annual Spring Gala fundraiser, themed “An Evening In Casablanca,” on Saturday, May 6th at the Trident Aircraft Hangar in Easton. This important fundraiser benefits the students and adults living with developmental disabilities and autism that Benedictine supports. Families, staff, community members, and businesses are all invited to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year.
