Community Members Meeting with KAP Students

This year, high school students in the Kent Alternative Placement program are receiving community support through a weekly guest speaker series. That partnership is being fostered by Assistant Principal Tishara Collins, who is in her second year as the head of the KAP program at Kent County High School. Collins maintains a focus on building a sense of community inside the program and a connection with the broader community beyond the school walls.

Shore Legal Access Announces Sandy Brown Public Interest Interns for Fall 2023

Shore Legal Access (formerly Mid-Shore Pro Bono) has named the Fall 2023 recipients of its Sandy Brown Public Interest Internship. Cody Pfieffer, of Centreville, Maryland, will work with Shore Legal Access staff at the organization’s Easton office, assisting residents of the Mid-Shore with their civil legal issues. Amirah Rice, of Baltimore, Maryland, will work at the Salisbury office, which serves the Lower Shore.

Banjo Man's Legacy Continues with RHES Performance

The legacy of Kent County's late musical icon Tom McHugh lives on through the continuation of his Banjo Man performances in local schools. McHugh was a professor of music who taught at Washington College and Vassar College and later launched the Mainstay music venue in Rock Hall. As the Banjo Man, he would perform for students, often singing about life on the Chesapeake Bay. With McHugh's passing in 2021, the school programs he launched have continued.

The event took place on November 2, 2023, at  Salisbury University in the Assembly Hall of the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons building.  The ceremony recognized the exceptional achievements of local entrepreneurs who have made  significant contributions to the economy and community of the Eastern Shore.

Radcliffe Creek School's Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) is pleased to announce its popular Pies & Poinsettias fundraiser is back this year! Order your favorite holiday treats and take home a vibrant poinsettia (or two) from Greenstreet Gardens. Choose from an array of delicious pies and other sweet treats offered by your local favorites The Spicerie and Happy Chicken Bakery, with gluten free and vegan options available. Proceeds from Pies & Poinsettias directly benefit the students and teachers through a variety of PTC initiatives.
