There were lots of accomplishments to highlight on the field in Trojan Stadium Friday, May 31 as the 142 members of the Kent County High School Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation. Principal Kris Hemstetter led the 53rd annual KCHS commencement ceremony, this year employing a running theme of the Bruno Mars hit song "24K Magic" to highlight how bright the Class of 2024 shines.

Kent Attainable Housing Project Advances in Congress
Kent Attainable Housing is pleased to announce that our 2025 request for Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) for the “Kent County Affordable Housing” project has been submitted to the Appropriations Committee, thanks to the support of Senator Ben Cardin and Senator Chris Van Hollen. The senators recognized the project's importance to Maryland and affirmed that it represents a responsible and impactful use of federal taxpayer funds.
KCHS Athletes to Play College Sports
Four recent Kent County High School grads plan to keep their sports careers going when they head off to college this fall. On Thursday, May 16, seniors Trice Moore, Martin Parrish, Will Speakman and Landon Wallace celebrated their plans in the high school's auditorium with their families and some Trojan teammates present.
Benedictine Awards Prestigious Sr. Jeannette Award to 29 Year Veteran of the Organization
Benedictine celebrated the winner and all the nominees of the distinguished Sister Jeannette award during its annual Staff Appreciation Celebration. The award was established in 2012 by the Benedictine Board of Directors in honor of Sister Jeannette, who served as Benedictine’s leader for over 30 years. The annual award recognizes an employee who exemplifies Benedictine’s values of dignity, integrity, collaboration and excellence.
Dinner Celebrates Dr. Couch's Career
Kent County Public Schools staff and supporters spent the evening Thursday, May 9 highlighting the indelible mark soon-to-be-retired Superintendent Dr. Karen Couch has left on the community. More than 100 people gathered in the ballroom of Chester River Yacht and Country Club to celebrate Dr. Couch's career with a dinner that also served as a fundraiser for the Kent County Public Schools Education Foundation Fund.
Fracassi Receives Golden Anchor Award
Described as an integral part of Kent County Public Schools' special education team, teacher Cheryl Fracassi was honored Monday, May 6 with the Golden Anchor Award. The Golden Anchor is presented by the Kent County Board of Education each month to staff members or groups of school employees who exemplify the system's mission and core values.
