In the past several months few weeks, more than 1,000 individuals have received COVID-19 vaccines through the Mobile Vaccination Program conducted by University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in collaboration with community partners in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent and Queen Anne’s counties.

Main Street Chestertown will officially launch Chestertown’s new mobile stage on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, May 29, with a street party featuring the popular band Best Kept Soul. The free event will kick off at noon in the 200 block of High Street, where members of the Town’s Street Department will have set up the stage in public for the first time.

ShoreRivers works to identify and address all pollution sources, including discharge from boats with marine sanitation devices. As the result of a multi-year effort by ShoreRivers, Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) designated the Chester River as the second No Discharge Zone in Maryland’s Chesapeake watershed. Now in its fifth year, the pumpout boat program is funded by DNR and ShoreRivers in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

Four University of Maryland Medical System hospitals including the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, all earned an “A” in the Spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a national distinction recognizing a hospital’s achievements in providing safer healthcare by protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections.
