The Garfield Center to Open the Mystery "Prescription: Murder" April 14
The Garfield Center for the Arts opens their second production of the 2023 season with Richard Levinson and William Link’s mystery “Prescription: Murder.” The production runs weekends from April 14 through April 30, with 8:00 PM performances on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 PM performances on Sundays.
KCPS Brings Coaches Into the Classroom
Everybody needs a coach, someone to help them take their game to the next level. Kent County Public Schools is taking that concept from the sports field to the classroom, giving students the boost they need. Kent County Public Schools was able to harness grant funding to create a new program for the 2022-23 school year, hiring students support coaches — or SSCs — for every building.

Willow Construction of Easton, Maryland, was recognized in the Associated Builders and Contractors’ fifth annual Top Performers publication as one ABC’s Top 250 Performers and Top General Contractors nationwide. ABC’s Top Performers lists—the only rankings of their kind—recognize member contractors’ achievements in safety, quality, inclusion, diversity, equity, project excellence and special designations, ranked by work hours.
Middle Schoolers Visit High School, Meet Dixon Engineers
Kent County Public Schools celebrated Engineering Week Feb. 20-24, with one highlight being a field trip for middle schoolers. On Wednesday, Feb. 22, a cohort of Kent County Middle School eighth graders visited the high school. The nearly 45 students on the trip are in the middle school's Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Program. Three sessions were organized for the students. Two of the sessions featured special guests: engineers from Dixon Valve.
For All Seasons Asks Community to Support Give With Your Heart Campaign
For All Seasons announced in March it will launch its “Give With Your Heart” seven-day virtual campaign which will underscore the importance of mental health and community connection and the impact it has on all of us. Each day between March 25 and March 31, For All Seasons will share a video featuring its friends, clients, and staff on its social media and a virtual giving wall. The videos will showcase individual stories of mental health and the importance of reaching out for help. A campaign music video, featuring For All Seasons’ staff and Heart & Music cast members, will be released on March 31.
Vendors Needed for the 2023 KCHS College & Career Fair
On Thursday, April 20, Kent County High School and Maryland Business Roundtable for Education are hosting a Career & College Fair, Sponsored by BW Health Group! The fair is open to all KCHS students and local community members. Representatives from colleges, branches of the military, non-profits, and local businesses are invited to share more about available opportunities: jobs, seasonal work, internships, apprenticeships, scholarships, and volunteer work. This will take place in the KCHS gymnasium, Trojan Arena. Lunch will be provided. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Kent Attainable Housing, Inc. has been awarded an allocation of $25,000 in Maryland Community Investment Tax Credits for Kent County
Kent Attainable Housing, Inc. (KAH) has been awarded an additional $25,000 in allocated Maryland’s Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program. KAH is one of three Kent County nonprofits named the recipient of CITC awards for FY2023. The Community Investment Tax Credit Program provides a tax credit equal to 50% of a donation of $500 or greater. This tax credit can be applied to individual and corporate state income tax liabilities.
