Choptank Health Announces New Women’s Health Provider

Choptank Community Health System recently welcomed women’s health practitioner Becky Kroeger, DNP, CNM of Easton, Md. to its medical practices.  Kroeger is offering prenatal care and women’s health services at Choptank Health’s Easton Health Center and Fassett Magee Center in Cambridge. She will also be expanding access to women’s health services at Choptank Health Centers located in Caroline and Kent counties.

Senior Director of Adults Services Joins Benedictine

Adedapo Laditan has joined Benedictine, a service provider for developmentally disabled and autistic children and adults, as the Senior Director of Adults Services. In this role, Laditan provides leadership to all aspects of the Adult Services program including management and fiscal sustainability. Benedictine’s Adult Services program serves over 90 adults that live in Benedictine owned and managed group homes or as participants in a day-only program.

Kent School to Host CommuniTEE Golf Tournament

Kent School looks forward to hosting the CommuniTEE Golf Tournament. The Tournament will take place at the Chester River Yacht & Country Club on Friday, May 12, 2023.  The Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm, which includes a box lunch and follow a step-aside scramble format. A Happy Hour reception will follow the tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Games will include Longest Drive, Most Accurate Drive, and Closet to the Pin. Make a hole in one on the 16th Hole and win the $10,000 prize!

The Garfield Center for the Arts has opened its annual call for play and musical titles for production consideration. Suggestions and proposals can be made by Directors who would like to present a play or musical in the 2024 season, as well as by interested community members, patrons of the Garfield Center and arts participants. All proposals must be received by the Garfield Center by midnight on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Figg’s Ordinary, LLC has announced that it has launched an investment campaign with Honeycomb Credit to support the development of Ingrid’s Crackers, a line of packaged crackers to be distributed commercially at the wholesale and retail level. Figg’s partnered in 2022 with Union Kitchen, a Washington, D.C.-based food business accelerator, to grow its line of crackers and scale up its production to take the business to the next level of operation.

Registration opens next month for Kent County Public Schools' pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs. The school system offers full-day pre-K at all three of elementary schools. Pre-K is open to students who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1. To register for the 2023-24 school year, contact your child’s home school to schedule an appointment.

Neurofeedback Helps Trauma Patients Regulate Emotions

For All Seasons has been offering neurofeedback, a type of biofeedback that utilizes a person’s brain activity (EEG) as a tool for therapeutic intervention, for quite some time. Now, the agency has three clinicians in its Easton, Denton, and Chestertown offices who are trained to provide the treatment which can reduce the effects of many emotional and physical conditions without medication for people across the lifespan. The treatment is done in conjunction with psychotherapy to reduce compulsive behaviors and/or improve self-regulation.

A counselor at Kent County High School was honored this month at a Board of Education meeting for her dedication to students. Jessica Bennett was presented with the Golden Anchor Award at the Monday, March 13 board meeting. The award is given each month to staff members or groups of employees who exemplify the mission and core values of Kent County Public Schools.
