Members of the Chester River Yacht & Country Club organized and participated in the 12th annual Pink Polar Bear Golf Tournament this summer, raising a record $10,200 to benefit patients served at the Eleanor & Ethel Leh Women’s Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. This year’s event attracted nearly 90 club members and guests. Since 2015, the event has raised over $30,000 to support breast cancer detection at the hospital.
Kent School to Host Secondary School Fair
On Wednesday, October 4, Kent School will host a secondary school fair for students in Grades Six, Seven and Eight and their parents or guardians. Kent School’s secondary school fair is open to all families in the area and there is no fee to attend. The event will be held in the M. V. “Mike” Williams Gymnasium from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Deep Blue at Kitty Knight Supports KCPS Foundation
Deep Blue at Kitty Knight is giving back to local schools with a fundraiser this month. Dine in at Deep Blue anytime between noon and 8 p.m. on Sept. 27 and the Galena restaurant will donate 20% of all proceeds to the Kent County Public Schools Education Foundation. The KCPS Education Foundation provides grants to teachers for innovative and dynamic classroom programs.

Choptank Health Mobile Unit Now in Chestertown
Choptank Community Health System is bringing its mobile healthcare unit to Chestertown to help serve people in Kent County. The initiative is made possible through a partnership with Choptank Health, the Town of Chestertown, and the Chestertown Police Department. The mobile unit will be used to provide medical, behavioral health, and dental services to communities in Kent County.
Free Family Workshop Sept. 27
The Kent County Special Education Citizen's Advisory Committee is hosting a presentation later this month for parents and community members with a leading behavioral expert. Dr. Joanne Kling to hold a free family workshop on "Behavioral Challenges" from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Kent County Middle School.
BAAR Hosts Back to School Trivia Night School Supply Drive to Benefit KCPS
Bay Area Association of Realtors (BAAR) hosted a Back to School Trivia Night School Supply Drive on August 8th, 2023 to benefit Kent County Public Schools. BAAR is a non-profit organization that supports local communities in Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Caroline Counties. It is a professional association of Realtors and Affiliate organizations that provides forums for professional growth, networking opportunities, leadership opportunities, professional standards, and community outreach.
