Kent Chamber to Host Legislators for Breakfast Discussion on 2023 Legislative Session

The Kent County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Post-Legislative Session Discussion with legislators from Maryland’s 36th Electoral District on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 8:30 am – 10:00 am. Tickets are $15 and include breakfast during the session.  The event will be held at Heron Point in Chestertown.

A signature event of the Kent Chamber and a longtime favorite of its members and the community, the Post-Legislative Session Discussion provides a wealth of insight on the results of the recent legislative session.  During the discussion, our legislators will share what they accomplished, what Kent County residents and business owners should be aware of, and answer questions. The 36th District legislators that will be present are Senator Steve Hershey, and Delegates Jay Jacobs, Steven Arentz, and Jeff Ghrist.

“We are thrilled to bring an in-person Post-Legislative Session and breakfast  back to Kent County this year,” says Sarah King, Kent County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “The Voice of Business Committee has been hard at work, researching the issues and crafting the questions for our legislators, specifically focusing on the impacts for Kent County.”

The goal of the Voice of Business (VoB) Committee is to communicate with members on national trends and local, state and federal government decisions and discuss the impact they have on Kent County businesses. This year’s session will be moderated by Dawson Hunter, Transportation & Housing Coordinator for Kent County Economic and Tourism Development, and member of the Kent County Chamber of Commerce’s Voice of Business Committee.
