Each school has announced its winner of the annual Teacher of the Year and Support Employee of the Year awards. Every year, Kent County Public Schools honors a top teacher and support employee. In the months leading up to the big announcement, each school recognizes a pair of staff members.
High school nurse, SRO and middle school coach receive Golden Anchor awards
Staff members at both the high school and the middle were honored this month with Golden Anchor awards.
Kent County High School Resource Officer Scott Metzbower and nurse Amber Britt were honored for their actions last month during an altercation that saw a student stabbed. Stephen Miller, a physical education teacher at Kent County Middle School, was recognized by his boys basketball team for his outstanding coaching and leadership.

Kent School Welcomes Guest Authors
Kent School will start the Spring season by welcoming authors to its campus on April 1 and again on April 8. First, Sheila Bair, former chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and former President of Washington College will share her series of children's books with students in Grades 3 through 8.
