For All Seasons hosted several activities during January to promote Human Trafficking Awareness Month. For this year’s annual Red Sand Project, staff involved all For All Seasons’ offices and many partners across the Shore in the awareness initiative using red sand to represent victims of human trafficking who may be hiding in plain sight. Red sand was poured into sidewalk or pavement cracks to spark dialogue and awareness.

Wishes and witches feature prominently in Kent County High School's upcoming musical production, set to take the stage this month. Theater students at the high school will be performing "Into the Woods JR.," an adaptation of a Tony-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.

The Garfield Center for the Arts begins the 2026 season with an edge-of-your-seat thriller by master storyteller Stephen King. Adapted for the stage by playwright William Goldman, King’s “Misery” opens February 20 and runs weekends through March 8. The production is sponsored by Peoples Bank powered by Hanscom Federal Credit Union.

Mid-Shore Community Foundation honored people making a difference across the region during its 2025 Annual Awards Breakfast Dec. 5 at the Tidewater Inn. Kent County Public Schools is seeking input from families, community members and staff on draft academic calendars for 2026-27. There are three drafts under review by the Kent County Board of Education.

Today, For All Seasons Behavioral Health and Rape Crisis Center provides expert mental health services, victim crisis support, education and outreach, and statewide leadership. The agency’s unique model of care ensures that no one in the region has to imagine life without these services, regardless of language or ability to pay.

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)  has recently announced a series of planned awards and investments in Kent County, totaling more than $2M in total funding that will benefit Kent County and its residents, businesses, and communities. DHCD’s State Revitalization Program (SRP) has selected  Kent County entities for awards through a variety of programs

The Chestertown Rotary Club presented Kent County Public Schools this month with a donation for its visual arts program. Beverly Birkmire, the club's foundation chair, attended the Board of Education's monthly meeting Jan. 12 with a check for $3,500. The money was raised during the club's annual Soup and Sip event, held last October at Chester River Yacht and Country Club. 

On Sunday, February 22 at 4 PM The Mainstay in Rock Hall will be the venue for a cozy winter salon of 19th-century classical music. Salons were a weekly feature in Paris from the 16th century until the early 20th century, and one is the perfect antidote to winter malaise.
