The YMCA of the Chesapeake reached more than 600 children and families through water safety education and hands-on learning during National Water Safety Month in May. Branches across the Eastern Shore partnered with schools, youth programs, and families to teach critical skills that can help prevent drowning and build confidence around water.

Kent School proudly celebrated the Graduation of the Class of 2026 during a heartfelt ceremony honoring students’ achievements, growth, and readiness for the next chapter of their educational journeys. Families, faculty, trustees, alumni, and friends gathered to recognize the accomplishments of the graduating class and reflect on the values that have guided students throughout their time at Kent School: curiosity, character, compassion, and a love of learning.

Families, friends, teachers and community members packed Trojan Arena in Kent County High School Friday, May 29 to celebrate the crowning achievement of the Class of 2026. Principal Kris Hemstetter handed out out diplomas to the 120 seniors walking across the stage in their blue and gold caps and gowns, as they marked the end of one chapter of their lives and the beginning of the next.
